There was a paragraph that said, "Even IE dared to ask you if you wanted to set it up as a default browser, why can't you be confident?" But today, the main actor of this paragraph might be easy to control — and Safari's “depravity” raised concerns in the industry.
On July 6th, Web developer Nolan & nbsp; Lawson wrote recently that apples are clearly lagging behind other mainstream browser developers in implementing the Web standards. Given that many of the new API technologies are missing on Safari, I am afraid that Safari will become the IE of the new era.
According to reports, none of the APIs mentioned in EdgeConf, last week’s Congress, launched by the leaders of the Web industry, is currently being implemented in Safari. Previously, with JSCorre and the brand-new WKWebView, Safari’s performance had improved dramatically, but none of the new Web platform features – underline storage, push notices, and “enable” web applications.
As in the case of the IndexedDB, the IndexedDB was proposed more than five years ago, starting in 2012 on IE, Firefox, and Chrome. Apple did not launch the IndexedDB until mid-2014, but the difference in its user experience was a big one. One year later, Razornet learned, Apple repaired two of the big gaps in the IndexedDB. According to Apple, the IndexedDB was not worth the effort because it was "unable."
"Even if apples actually use new APIs, they're often just fooling around."
Apple's behavior has never been understood by practitioners: they never send people to the web-related conferences, and their Safari blog is rarely updated, so no one knows what the next generation of Safari will look like before the opening of the annual WWDC.
As Thunderbolt knows, in 2010, Apple was also known as Web’s devout believer. Many of the applications to help keep up with the early features of local applications, such as ApplicationCache, WebSQL, contact events and contact icons, were popular in industry – many of them originated from apples.
Lawson said that, at this stage, the Web community needed to accept the fact that Safari had become the IE of the new era. Microsoft had recently decided to transform, Google had a monopoly on Web, and Mozilla had introduced many new features to keep up with the times. Apples seemed a little out of place. “It's time for us to talk openly about this issue, not shy away from saying that apples, as the world's most valuable company, can still bear some blow.”
What can the Web community do in the face of an apple that controls the mainstream browser that controls the iOS platform completely, but still adheres to the 2010 model without knowing what the Web community can do?
Lawson proposed a variety of mechanisms, but in his summary, the best strategy in the face of apples might be hard, not soft. So, he pointed out that the final solution for apples might be to use the technology that was not easy for Safari, and Worker and so on, as a catalyst for industrial progress.
Alex Russell made a good point at the “Applications for Installable Webs” seminar: if we had developed a large number of applications using Service & nbsp; free web applications in Walker, and those applications worked very well on Android, but only on iOS, the apple would be interested in using Service & nbsp; Walker, supporting API.
Lawson's really upset about this, "If the Web community can begin to build a vibrant web application ecosystem, crowding apples out, the apples may have to change like Microsoft. Otherwise, Safari might become another terrible IE."
