The OTC market, also known as the Over-the-Counter market, or the OTC market, refers to transactions that took place outside the exchange. The OTC market originated in the early 20th century in the United States of America, when a large number of investors bought and sold those securities through the counters of banks or securities dealers, and the counter trade became famous for it. The OTC market for financial derivatives emerged rapidly in the 1980’s.

比特币OTC交易，粗糙定义一下的话，可以这么说：所有不是交易所以撮合方式完成的比特币交易，都属于OTC交易。比特币OTC交易不只是少数人偶尔进行的交易，真实的市场交易量已经非常可观，纽约比特币交易所itBit公司进行的场外交易每周达到数千个BTC。 在过去一年种种报告与数据皆显示：数字货币(主要为比特币：BTC)的场外交易正在大量窜升，有报道称有场外交易商在2018年处理了240亿美元的场外交易。

1、比特币的使用本身的使用有一定门槛。有些初级用户需要支付比特币，却不知道如何支付，干脆直接购买比特币支付的『服务』，这就有了场外交易的需求。
The use of bitcoin itself has a certain threshold. Some primary users have to pay bitcoin without knowing how to do it, simply buying “services” paid by bitcoin, which creates the demand for off-site transactions.
2、不希望交易被追踪。出于安全的原因，大多数的交易所，都有直接或者间接的实名验证需求，交易所严格的实名认证，让有些不希望交易被追踪的交易者只能寻求场外交易。
2. Do not want transactions to be tracked. For security reasons, most exchanges have a direct or indirect need for real-name certification, which allows some traders who do not want transactions to be tracked to seek off-site transactions.
3、基于谨慎考虑的大额存储的需求。有一些非常谨慎的投资人，他们既希望存储大量的比特币，又不愿意自己的信息被任何机构所掌握，于是就采取寻找多个OTC交易者分开购买。

第一，信用风险。比特币场外交易和场内交易的最大的区别在于场外交易以交易双方的信用为基础，由交易双方自行承担信用风险。一旦一方出现违约，如另一方完成比特币地址转账，但一方却拒绝付款，其权益就很难得到保障。
First, credit risk. The biggest difference between Bitcoin off-site transactions and intra-field transactions is that off-site transactions are based on the creditworthiness of the parties to the transaction, with credit risk borne by the parties themselves. Once one party defaults, such as the other party completing a Bitcoin address transfer, its interests are difficult to secure.
第二，价格波动风险。比特币价格不仅受到各国政策影响波动，并且很容易受到大户买卖行为影响，因此其交易价格不稳定也将对场外交易有一定影响。
Second, the risk of price volatility. Bitcoin prices are not only subject to policy fluctuations in countries, but are also vulnerable to large-scale buying and selling behaviour, so the volatility of their trading prices will also have some impact on off-site transactions.
第三，救济缺位风险。比特币场外交易的交易、使用和结算由双方商定，一旦发生纠纷，交易各方往往会面临取证和举证的诸多困难，从而在交易中处于不利地位。

Transactions, use and settlement of transactions outside Bitcoin are agreed between the parties and, in the event of a dispute, the parties to the transaction often face difficulties in obtaining evidence and proof, thereby placing them at a disadvantage in the transaction.
