According to the foreign media, the People’s Bank of China issued a 24-day circular prohibiting all services related to virtual monetary settlements and the provision of information on traders. Criminal liability will be incurred for carrying out illegal financial activities.
据日本《朝日新闻》9月25日报道，中国央行发布的通知指出：“虚拟货币交易炒作活动抬头，扰乱经济金融秩序，滋生赌博、非法集资、诈骗、传销、洗钱等违法犯罪活动。”它同时列举了比特币、以太币、泰达币等虚拟货币的名称，明确表示其不得在市场上流通。未来各主管部门将加强监督和打击力度。
According to a report published in Japan's Haj-Japan News on 25 September, the Central Bank of China issued a circular stating: “The virtual currency deal has been bouncing up, disrupting the economic and financial order, and provoking illegal criminal activities such as gambling, illegal fund-raising, fraud, distribution, money-laundering.” At the same time, it lists virtual currencies such as Bitcoin, Intelco, Tedar, etc., and makes it clear that they are not allowed to circulate in the market.

It warned that any domestic staff who help these agencies operate or provide marketing publicity and technical support would be held accountable under the law.

According to the Spanish newspaper El Niño, on 24 September, China is stepping up its efforts to combat encrypted currency.
