2019年是紅軍長征出發85周年。6月11日至8月18日，中央宣傳部組織開展“壯麗70年·奮斗新時代——記者再走長征路”主題採訪活動。先后有1300余名記者追隨當年紅軍長征步伐，深入13個省（區、市）實地採訪，累計行程1.6萬余公裡。

2019年8月24日，《新聞聯播》正式入駐短視頻平台抖音、快手。在快手的粉絲數瞬間漲到1210.9萬﹔在抖音上發布四條視頻后，粉絲便超過1637.9萬。截至2019年11月，人民日報抖音粉絲數超過5000萬，央視新聞快手粉絲數2791萬、西瓜視頻粉絲數7264 萬、好看粉絲數759萬，人民網微視粉絲數317萬，在媒體中名列第一。

·縣級融媒體中心建設五項標准規范發布實施
2019年1月15日，中宣部和國家廣播電視總局聯合發布《縣級融媒體中心建設規范》和《縣級融媒體中心省級技術平台規范要求》。4月11日，總局再次發布《縣級融媒體中心網絡安全規范》《縣級融媒體中心運行維護規范》《縣級融媒體中心監測監管規范》。至此，縣級融媒體中心5項標准規范全部發布實施，縣級融媒體中心標准體系基本建立，為指導全國縣級融媒體中心建設，提供了關鍵性、基礎性技術支撐。
