為了更好通過對網路詞語的沉澱，清晰記錄下這個時代的發展脈絡和感知這個時代的公眾情緒，自2009年開始，互動百科每年都會聯合權威機構在年終發布當年的“網際網路十大熱詞與年度漢字”。

2014網際網路十大熱詞及年度漢字，由互動百科發布，以盤點年度熱點、反映時代特色、記錄社會形態為目標，結合全年網民的關注度、年終投票，最終由專家評議產生後，於2015年1月正式發布：依法治國、馬航、APEC藍、伊波拉病毒、冰桶挑戰、監獄風雲、克里米亞、《小蘋果》、奶茶戀、玉兔號入選2014年網際網路十大熱詞。

依法治國

依法治國的核心就是依照憲法和法律規定，逐步實現社會主義民主的制度化、法律化，使這種制度和法律不因領導人的改變而改變，不因領導人看法和注意力的改變而改變。任何組織或者個人都不得有超越憲法和法律的特權，絕不允許以言代法、以權壓法、徇私枉法。人治管用但不牢靠，法治可保江山社稷長治久安。

活動易招致很多批評，因為各路名人似乎只是為了靠挑戰來宣傳自己，冬粉和媒體也把焦點全部集中到挑戰者本身，大家似乎忘記了活動的初衷是為漸凍人籌款和關注漸凍人症，而為漸凍人籌集到的款項也是寥寥，因此變了味的冰桶挑戰，看來注定會引起人們的厭棄。

面對越來越多的娛樂圈明星的犯法行為，為了淨化娛樂圈的氛圍，2014年9月，國家新聞出版廣電總局終於下發通知定性，明確要求有吸毒、嫖娼行為的“劣跡藝人”參與製作的電影、電視節目、網路劇、微電影暫停播出、放映，以往那樣釋放後道個歉就輕鬆“滿血復活”成了歷史。希望有了這道“緊箍咒”,娛樂圈額不正之風能整肅一新，藝人們也會三思而行不再拿自己的藝術生命當做兒戲。
