On the evening of 13 March, the price of Bitcoin rose short-term, standing fast at $60,000 after crossing the $59,000 threshold, at a maximum price of $60,322. According to the Bitcoin News Information Network Coindisk, the price fell back to $59,753 as at 21:00, rising by 5.8 per cent in 24 hours, and traded at $5,873 billion in 24 hours at a market value of approximately $1.11 trillion. On 16 February, the price of Bitcoin exceeded $50,000.
